Day 2: Tarangire National Park & The Land of Giants

After breakfast, we depart for Tarangire National Park, famous for its enormous elephant herds and the magnificent baobab trees that dot the landscape. We will spend the day on a thrilling game drive, following the Tarangire River, a vital water source that attracts a diverse array of wildlife.

Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park & Mto wa Mbu Cultural Tour

Today, we visit Lake Manyara National Park, a smaller park known for its picturesque soda lake, massive baboon troops, and the famous tree-climbing lions. After our game drive, we will head to the nearby village of Mto wa Mbu for a unique cultural tour, exploring the vibrant market and learning about the over 120 tribes that call this area home.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Conservation Area & The Crater Rim

We will drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with a scenic journey through the highlands. We will check into our lodge perched on the crater rim, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the caldera below. The afternoon is at your leisure to enjoy the magnificent scenery and prepare for our descent the following day.

Day 5: Full Day Ngorongoro Crater Safari

An early start allows us to descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day game drive. This unique self-contained ecosystem is home to a staggering density of animals, providing an excellent chance to spot the Big Five, including the rare black rhino. We will enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor before ascending back to our lodge.

Day 6: Lake Eyasi Cultural Immersion

Today, we leave the main circuit for a profound cultural experience. We will drive to Lake Eyasi to meet the Hadzabe, one of the last remaining hunter-gatherer tribes in Africa. You'll join them on a traditional morning hunt, witness their ancient fire-making techniques, and learn about their unique way of life. We will also meet the neighboring Datoga tribe, a nomadic pastoralist community.

Over the next three days, we will immerse ourselves in the legendary Serengeti National Park. Our expert guide will position us to follow the path of the Great Wildebeest Migration, depending on the season. We will have multiple game drives each day, searching for predators and herbivores and witnessing the sheer scale of this natural spectacle. You will stay in a tented camp to feel truly connected to the wild.

Day 10: Serengeti to Arusha and Flight to Zanzibar

After a final morning game drive in the Serengeti, we will drive to a local airstrip for a scenic flight back to Arusha. From there, you will take another flight to the tropical paradise of Zanzibar. When is the best time to go on a Tanzania safari?

The dry season (June–October) offers the best wildlife viewing, while the green season (November–March) is perfect for birding and witnessing the Serengeti wildebeest calving season. With Tanzania Footprints Adventures, every season has its own unique highlights.

How many days do you recommend for a safari?

Most guests enjoy 5–7 days, which allows time to explore the Serengeti, Ngorongoro, and Tarangire. Shorter safaris (3–4 days) are great for quick getaways, while longer trips (8–12 days) cover more parks at a relaxed pace.

What type of accommodation do you offer?

We work with a wide range of options—from budget camping safaris to mid-range lodges and luxury tented camps. Tanzania Footprints Adventures tailors accommodation to match your budget and style.

Are your safaris safe?

Yes. Safety is our top priority. Our experienced guides are trained to handle wildlife encounters and ensure your comfort throughout the journey. Camps and lodges also provide 24-hour security.

What should I pack for my safari?

We recommend lightweight neutral-colored clothes, a warm jacket for evenings, sturdy walking shoes, sunscreen, insect repellent, binoculars, and a good camera. A detailed packing list will be shared once you book with us.

Will I see the Big Five on safari?

Tanzania is one of the best places in Africa to spot the Big Five. Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater offer excellent chances of seeing lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, and even the rare black rhino.

Can my safari be customized?

Absolutely. At Tanzania Footprints Adventures, we design tailor-made itineraries to match your preferences—whether that’s more time in Serengeti, cultural visits with local tribes, hot-air balloon safaris, or adding a beach holiday in Zanzibar.

Do I need a visa to visit Tanzania?

Yes, most travelers require a tourist visa. You can apply online (e-visa) before traveling or obtain it on arrival. We’ll guide you through the process once your safari is confirmed.

Can I combine my safari with other adventures?
